Overview

Turborepo is a high-performance build system for JavaScript and TypeScript monorepos, written in Rust and maintained by Vercel. When you run a build in a monorepo, Turborepo analyzes the dependency graph between packages, determines which tasks can run in parallel, and skips tasks whose inputs haven’t changed since the last run. How It Works

Agents configure Turborepo via a turbo.json file at the repository root that declares task pipelines and their dependency relationships. The turbo CLI (installed via npm install turbo) integrates with npm, yarn, pnpm, and bun workspaces.
