Rewrite agent-facing English with ASD-STE100 discipline
Use this Claude Code skill to rewrite ambiguous instructions, errors, and tool descriptions into controlled technical English for agents.
npx skills add agentskillexchange/skills --skill rewrite-agent-facing-english-with-asd-ste100-discipline
Use asd-ste100-skill when a Claude Code operator needs to make agent-facing English less ambiguous without losing facts, conditions, or scope qualifiers. The workflow is to give Claude Code dense tool descriptions, error messages, system prompts, inter-agent instructions, or other machine-read text and ask it to apply ASD-STE100-style simplified technical English. The skill checks ambiguity patterns, rewrites flagged sentences, preserves required meaning, and calls out text it deliberately keeps unchanged when simplification would remove precision. Invoke this instead of editing prose normally when the reader is another agent, automation layer, or non-native technical reader that cannot ask clarifying questions. The scope boundary is controlled-language rewriting for agent and technical instructions; it is not the ASD standard itself, not a certified STE compliance tool, not a generic writing assistant, and not a documentation platform.
What this skill actually does
Inputs and prerequisites: Claude Code and either the skills CLI or a local ~/.claude/skills checkout.
Setup notes: From a project root, run npx skills add danyuchn/asd-ste100-skill. For a global Claude Code checkout, clone https://github.com/danyuchn/asd-ste100-skill into ~/.claude/skills/asd-ste100, then ask Claude Code to apply STE100, disambiguate text, or rewrite an instruction so an agent cannot misparse it.
Source and verification boundary: use https://github.com/danyuchn/asd-ste100-skill as the canonical reference before running the workflow; keep commands, API calls, CLI usage, and generated outputs reviewable against that upstream source.
Framework fit: publish this as a Claude Code workflow only when the operator can invoke the documented toolchain directly, rather than treating the upstream project as a generic product listing.
