Tools required
Alphacode CLI, local repository checkout, terminal shell, optional Firefox Browser Agent extension, optional MCP servers or model provider credentials.
Install & setup
Install on macOS or Linux with curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dragonked2/alphacode/main/scripts/install.sh | bash, or on Windows PowerShell with irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dragonked2/alphacode/main/scripts/install.ps1 | iex. Then run alphacode doctor and launch alphacode, or run a scoped task directly with alphacode run "fix the failing test". For browser automation, install the AlphaCode Browser Agent Firefox extension, then run alphacode browser setup and alphacode browser status.

Quick brief

Use Alphacode when an operator wants a local terminal coding agent to inspect a repository, plan a change, edit files, run commands and tests, automate a real Firefox session, or interact with desktop applications as part of one supervised development workflow. The repeatable workflow is to install Alphacode, run alphacode doctor, launch the terminal UI or alphacode run with a scoped task, and review the final report describing what changed and what was verified.

How it works

What this skill actually does

Invoke this instead of using the product normally when the agent needs to perform a bounded codebase task end to end, especially when the work benefits from local command execution, browser QA, desktop automation, reusable skills, MCP-connected tools, or multiple model providers. The scope boundary is the supervised operator workflow around repository work and verification: Alphacode is not being listed as a generic coding assistant, LLM SDK, or broad CLI platform. The skill is specifically for running local coding-agent sessions that produce reviewable changes, test output, screenshots, or other evidence before the human accepts the result.
