Create and edit Office documents locally with GenOffice
Use GenOffice's CLI and bundled agent skill to create, inspect, convert, render, audit, and edit real DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, PDF, Markdown, and HTML files from an agent session.

npx skills add genspark-ai/genoffice; confirm CLI availability with genoffice --version.Use GenOffice when an agent or operator needs to produce or change real office documents without reducing the task to Markdown approximations or brittle zip/XML edits. The workflow is concrete: install GenOffice, install or expose its bundled agent skill, have the agent inspect existing files with `genoffice info` or domain-specific read commands, create or convert documents through the CLI, apply structured DOCX/XLSX/PPTX operations, render or audit the result, and hand back a normal Office-format file that can still open in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GenOffice, or compatible editors.
What this skill actually does
Invoke this instead of using the GenOffice app normally when the document task belongs inside an agent workflow: building a deck from a brief, creating a workbook from CSV or JSON with live formulas, converting Markdown or HTML into Word, reading a user’s Office file before rewriting a section, repairing slide overflow, rendering pages for visual review, or converting PDFs locally. It is most useful when the agent needs deterministic file operations and checkable outputs, while the operator keeps final review of content, layout, and any configured AI/search/media provider use.
This is not a generic office-suite listing. The scope boundary is the documented `genoffice` CLI plus bundled agent skill for local, headless document operations, structured edits, conversion, rendering, and audit checks. Do not stretch it into a broad productivity app recommendation or a catch-all Microsoft Office replacement.
Inputs and prerequisites: GenOffice desktop installation; the `genoffice` CLI installed with the app; a target document or source brief/data; optional configured AI/search/image/media providers; optional skills-compatible host such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, Windsurf, or another agent that reads skills.
Setup notes: Install GenOffice from the latest GitHub release for macOS, Windows, or Linux. Install the agent skill from Settings -> Integrations, download the skill zip, or run `npx skills add genspark-ai/genoffice` in a compatible skills workflow. Confirm the CLI with `genoffice –version`, then use JSON output for agent-readable commands.
Source and verification boundary: use https://github.com/genspark-ai/genoffice, https://genoffice.ai/, and `skills/genoffice/SKILL.md` as canonical references before running the workflow; keep file edits, conversions, render/audit checks, provider calls, and final artifacts reviewable against upstream documentation.
Framework fit: publish this as a Multi-Framework workflow because upstream explicitly supports Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, Windsurf, and other skills-compatible agents; no single host framework is central to invocation.
