# Give coding agents repository search and call graphs with CodeSeek

How it works

What this skill actually does

Use this skill when a coding agent needs fast repository intelligence before editing code: symbol lookup, semantic search, call graph traversal, and cross-language context retrieval. The operator installs CodeSeek, runs its setup wizard, indexes the project, and registers the native MCP tools so Claude Code, Codex, or another MCP host can query the codebase during implementation work.

Invoke this instead of relying on ordinary shell search when the agent needs richer code navigation across a large or multi-language repository. The boundary is the code-intelligence workflow: install, configure embeddings, index the repository, query symbols/call graphs, and optionally keep indexes fresh with git hooks. It is not just a Rust CLI listing.

Upstream quick start:

“`bash
npm install -g codeseek
codeseek install
codeseek install-hooks
“`

After installation, run CodeSeek inside the target repository, complete the interactive setup wizard, index the project, and use the registered MCP tools from the agent runtime.
